CAD data for a project

  1. Navigate to the Order Maps & Data page.
  2. Scroll down to the Digital Data by Tile section and click on the hyperlink to open the Digital Data by Tile catalog page.
  3. On the Digital Data by Tile catalog page, choose the desired data Planimetric data.   Choosing any of the three options opens up a catalog page, giving further description of the data.
  4. Click “using the viewer” hyperlink to open up the Link-GIS  Map Viewer.  The Clip and Ship Data widget opens on the upper right hand corner of the Viewer.
  5. Zoom to the desired location on the map, using the zoom slider on the left hand side of the Map Viewer or using the Navigation tools from the “Navigation” drop down menu.
  6. Tiles can be selected by point, line, box or irregular polygon.  There is a TEN tile limit on tile order data.  Orders larger than ten tiles will have to be made with NKAPC GIS Department directly (859-331-8980).
  7. To select by point, click the “Select by Point” icon in the widget, then click on the map to select an individual tile.  The selected tile will appear red.  To change the selection, click on another tile in the map.  To clear any selected tiles, click on the “Clear” icon (looks like a recycle container).
  8. To select by line, click the “Select by Line” icon in the widget, then click once on the map to start drawing the line.  Move your cursor in the desired direction and click once to add additional nodes to the line.  Double click to complete the drawing of the line and the selected tiles will appear in red.  To change the selection, redraw the line.  To clear any selected tiles, click on the “Clear” icon (looks like a recycle container).
  9. To select by box, click the “Select by Rectangle” icon in the widget, then click and drag on the map to start draw the box.  Move your cursor to cover the desired tiles then un-click the mouse.  The selected tiles will appear in red.  To change the selection, redraw the box.  To clear any selected tiles, click on the “Clear” icon (looks like a recycle container).
  10. To select by polygon, click the “Select by Polygon” icon in the widget, then click once on the map to start drawing the polygon.  Move your cursor in the desired directions and click once to add an additional node to the polygon.  Double click to complete the drawing of the polygon and the selected tiles will appear in red.  To change the selection, redraw the polygon.   To clear any selected tiles, click on the “Clear” icon (looks like a recycle container).
  11. Select the desired data by clicking on the check boxes next to the data types.  Please note, Planimetric data comes with Aerial Photography, but Aerial Photography can be purchased with out the Planimetric data.  Fee schedules can be viewed by clicking on “Fee Schedule” to open up the link.
  12. Once the desired tiles and data are selected, click the “Add data to cart”.  The desired items and item prices will be displayed in the shopping cart.  When finished shopping, proceed to checkout on step 16.
  13. If an item in the shopping cart is incorrect, click the “Remove” button next to the item and it will be removed from the cart.
  14. To continue shopping, click “continue shopping” on the Cart page to return to the Order Maps & Data page.  Select additional desired items.  Additional items will appear in the shopping cart.
  15. To edit the shopping cart, click “Edit shopping cart” text in the sidebar then change any items in the cart, remove items in the cart or change the quantity of items in the cart.  Then click the “Update Subtotal” button to see the new price total.
  16. When finished shopping, check out by clicking the “PayPal” button.
  17. If an account already exists, then log in with the correct email and password.  Select a shipping method.  Next to the shipping methods are the estimated pickup and delivery dates.  If the shipping address is different than the billing address, uncheck the box next to “Same shipping address” and fill out the shipping address information.   When finished click the “Submit Order” button.
  18. In the Checkout page, review the order.  If the order is incorrect, then return to step 6.  If the order is correct, click the “Confirm Order” button to continue to PayPal.
  19. Log in to PayPal and proceed with the payment process.  Click the “Sign Up Now” button, if a PayPal account needs to be created.  Complete the payment process.
  20. An Order Receipt email will be sent showing the order information.  Pick up the order or expect order delivery on or near the dates noted on the Checkout page.  If all or part of the order is a free download, then click “Download” in the email and download the data.
