My Risk of Flooding

  1. Enter your address or PIDN number on the HOME page in the Explore LINK-GIS Maps box. The Link GIS viewer page will open, displaying the map.
  2. Hover on the Tools cube in the gray box titled LINK-GIS (when hovering over it reads Tools). In the drop down menu click on the Flood Hazard Determination tool. A widget will open on the right side of the screen that is titled Flood Hazard Determination.
  3. In the widget titled Flood Hazard Determination type in the address or PIDN of the property you are requesting flood determination. The map locates the property. Click on “Flood Hazard?” button in the Flood Hazard Determination widget. The map zooms to the address requested. In the widget a brief report will be broadcast stating the property location status in or out of the flood area. A green link is provided to view the Flood Hazard Form.
  4. Click the link to view the FEMA Standard Flood Hazard Determination Form (SFHDF) which is populated with the necessary information. If the property is partially located in the Flood area a link is provided to have NKAPC staff review the case.
  5. To view the Flood Zone on the map hover on the globe in the gray box titled LINK-GIS (when hovering over it reads Map Information) in the drop down menu click on Map Layers. A widget titled Map Layers will open on the right side of the screen, displaying a list of map layers.
  6. In the Map Layers widget click on the heading Kenton/Campbell County. Use the scroll bar on the right side of the box to scroll down and find Kenton Flood Zone or Campbell Flood Zone.
  7. Click inside of the small box next to the Flood Zone you are requesting. The map will refresh itself, please wait.
  8. Use the zoom slider on the left side of the map to rescale the map of your community if necessary.
  9. To minimize the widget, click on the green arrow in the top right of the widget. 
  10. To close the widget, click the ‘x’ in the top right corner.
