Search

  1. In the LINK-GIS Map Viewer, hover on the blue cube in the gray box titled LINK-GIS. When hovering over it reads “Tools.”
  2. In the drop down menu click on the “Search” tool. A widget will open on the right side of the screen that is titled “Search.”
  3. Choose from one of the three types of search options (“All Map Layers”, “Locate” or “Owner”).  Click the desired search option, then type what is to be searched (i.e. Address, Owner name, PIDN, etc) in the Search text box and click the “Search” button.
  4. Use the “All Map Layers” option when doing a general search.  This search option searches multiple map layers.  The resulting table displays multiple selections found by the Search widget. Use the slider on the right side of the widget or the mouse wheel to navigate through the selected features. Click on one of the selected objects in the Search widget and the map viewer will zoom to the selected object and display information pertaining to the selected object on the right side of the Search widget.
  5. Use the “Locate” option when searching for a specific address or intersection. Click “Locate” then type the address or intersection in the text box, and click the “Search” button. 
  6. The “Locate” option will automatically zoom the user to the first or only feature the Search widget finds.  If there is more than one feature found, they will be listed in the Search widget.  Hovering the mouse over a feature in the Search widget will cause the feature to display on the map viewer with a mailbox icon surrounded by pulsating red rings. Clicking on a selected feature in the widget will cause the map viewer to zoom to that feature.
  7. Use the “Owner” option when doing an owner search. The resulting table displays multiple selections found by the Search widget. Use the slider on the right side of the widget or the mouse wheel to navigate through the selected features. Click on one of the selected objects in the Search widget and the map viewer will zoom to the selected object and display information pertaining to the selected object on the right side of the Search widget.
  8. To clear the selected features, click on the recycle container icon located on the upper right hand corner of the Search widget.
  9. To modify a search or run a new search, click on the binoculars icon located on the upper right hand corner of the Search widget.
  10. To minimize the widget, click on the green arrow in the top right of the widget. 
  11. To close the widget, click the ‘x’ in the top right corner.
