- In the My Community Viewer, hover on the blue cube in the gray box titled LINK-GIS. When hovering over it reads “Tools.”
- In the drop down menu click on the “Demographics” tool. A widget will open on the right side of the screen that is titled “Demographics.”
- There are two ways to define an area for a demographic information report. An area can be defined as a rectangle or a free form polygon.
- Users can draw a rectangle around the area of interest by clicking on the Rectangle button in the Demographic widget, then drawing a rectangle on the map. Once the rectangle is complete, a pie chart will display in the Demographics widget showing the demographic information for the selected area.
- Users can draw a free form polygon around the area of interest by clicking on the Polygon button in the Demographic widget, then drawing a polygon on the map. While drawing the polygon, click once to add a node to the polygon and double click to finish drawing the polygon. Once the polyton is complete, a pie chart will display in the Demographics widget showing the demographic information for the selected area.
- Clear the polygon or rectangle by clicking on the recycle container icon in the Demographics widget.
- To minimize the widget, click on the green arrow in the top right of the widget.
- To close the widget, click the ‘x’ in the top right corner. This will turn the demographic rectangle or polygon off in the map. Opening the widget back up will re-draw the rectangle or polygon from the current session, unless the user presses the Clear button or ends the My Community Viewer session.
