Directions

  1. In the My Community Map Viewer, hover on the blue cube in the gray box titled My Community. When hovering over it reads “Tools.”
  2. In the drop down menu click on the “Directions” tool. A widget will open on the right side of the screen that is titled “Directions.”
  3. Enter a full address in the Start box; i.e. 2332 Royal Dr, Ft Mitchell, KY, 41017.
  4. Press the green dot on the right side of that address box to get a list of possible matches.
  5. Click one of the addresses from the list. Use the scroll bar on the right side to view more address choices.
  6. Enter a full address in the End box; i.e. 2332 Royal Dr, Ft Mitchell, KY, 41017.
  7. Press the green dot on the right side of that address box to get a list of possible matches.
  8. Click one of the addresses from the list. Use the scroll bar on the right side to view more address choices.
  9. Choose either shortest time or shortest distance by clicking in the circle next to Time or Distance.
  10. Check the Find Best Sequence option to show the best route.
  11. Click the Get Directions button to display the route on the map.
  12. To add additional stops, type another address in the End address box and click the green dot. Select the desired address and click Get Directions.
  13. Or to add additional stops, click the Add Stop button and then point and click on the map. Click Get Directions.
  14. The Add Road Block button generates a road block on the route and will generate another route around the road block. This would be good to use for any roads that are desired to be avoided along the route. To add a road block, click on the Add Road block button. Click the map anywhere on the route and a new route will be generated around the road block.
  15. To get the written driving directions select the grid icon titled Directions in the top right corner of the box.
  16. Click on the printer icon to print the directions out.
  17. To clear the addresses in the box, click on the Clear button at the bottom of the widget.
  18. To minimize the widget, click on the green arrow in the top right of the widget.
  19. To close the widget, click the ‘x’ in the top right corner. This will turn the route directions lines off in the map. Opening the widget back up will re-draw the route direction lines from the current session, unless the user presses the Clear button or ends the My Community Viewer session.
