Feeds

  1. RSS takes the latest headlines from different web sites, and pushes those headlines out as “feeds”.
  2. In the My Community Map Viewer locate the orange “Feeds” icon.
  3. From the drop down list, click on a news feed, i.e. “Cincinnati News”
  4. The RSS feed will display in a box on the right side of the screen.
  5. All of the available headlines from the RSS service can be seen by using the scroll bar on the right side of the box. 
  6. To view the entire story click on the orange arrow.  That will bring up the website with the story on it.  * Please Note: the Pop-up Blocker will need to be turned off to view the linked website.
  7. Double clicking the highlighted RSS feed will cause the map to zoom to the location of the selected RSS feed. 
  8. Placing the cursor over the RSS feed icon on the map displays information about the icon.
  9. To minimize the widget, click on the green arrow in the top right of the widget. 
  10. To close the widget, click the ‘x’ in the top right corner.
